Privacy policy
Effective October 23, 2026
Long Time No See helps you see friends on a regular rhythm. It is made by Peter James. This policy covers the iPhone app, the booking pages your friends open from your invites, and the beta sign-up on our website.
What you give the app
- Your first name and phone number. Your phone number is your account. To sign in, we text you a one-time code through Twilio.
- The friends you add. Their names and phone numbers, only for the people you add, and any diet notes you add. When you search your contacts, the search happens on your phone and only the people you add are sent to us. With Apple's limited access, the app can only see the contacts you choose to share.
- Your plans. Your places, the times that usually work, weekly limits, go-to dishes, favorite spots, grocery day, and notes you write after a visit.
- Your calendar, if you turn it on. Only the start and end times of events in the next 60 days leave your phone, so friends aren't offered times you're busy. Never titles, places, notes, or who's invited. All-day events and events marked free are left out. Booked get-togethers are added to your calendar on your phone.
- Notifications. If you allow them, Apple gives us a token to send reminders to your phone.
Your grocery list goes to the Reminders list you pick, on your phone, and only after you tap Add. It is never sent to us.
What your friends give it
When a friend opens your invite link, they see your name, your free times and, if they're coming to your place, the dish you're making. When they pick a time, we store it. If they type a food note ("no mushrooms"), we store it and show it to you. Booking pages set no cookies and use no tracking.
Texts
Invites and reminders to friends are sent by you, from your own phone, through Messages. The app fills in the text; we never text your friends.
How it's used
Only to run the app: to find free times, make booking pages, remind you, and suggest what to cook. No ads, no selling or sharing data, no tracking across apps or websites, no analytics, and no AI processing of your data.
Households
If you share plans with someone you live with, you both see the household's places, household friends, and household plans. Friends you see on your own, and your own times, stay private to you.
Beta requests
If you ask to join the beta on our website, we keep your name, your kind of phone, and the email you give us, and send them to Peter so he can invite you through Apple's TestFlight or Google Play. We use them only for that, and delete them if you ask.
Where it's kept
On a server we run in the United States. Booking pages pass through Cloudflare and Vercel on the way to your friends. Sign-in codes are sent by Twilio, and notifications by Apple.
Deleting your data
Delete your account any time in the app: Settings, then Delete account. That removes your account and its data right away. In a shared household, the household's plans stay with the others. You can also email [email protected] and we'll delete it within 30 days.
Children
Long Time No See is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date.
